Shongweni Motor Show 2025

The Shongweni Motor Show on 30th May, 31st May, and 1st June 2025 at NU Driving Range should make for a  thrilling weekend!

It will be showcasing Motors, Trucks, Bikes, Boats, Caravans, Aero, Sporting Gear, and a Craft Market. With live bands in the Beer Garden Marquee all weekend, it’s fun for the whole family!

Comrades Marathon 2025

The Comrades Marathon, renowned as “The Ultimate Human Race,” is set to captivate the running world once again on Sunday, 8 June 2025. This 98th edition will be a Down Run, starting at 5:30 AM from the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and concluding approximately 89 kilometres later at Durban’s People’s Park by 5:30 PM. 

Entries for the 2025 race opened on 13 November 2024 and closed on 9 December 2024, reaching the cap of 23,000 participants.

To qualify, runners must complete an officially recognised marathon (42.2 km) within a specified time frame between 10 June 2024 and 5 May 2025.

The Comrades Marathon is more than just a race; it’s a testament to endurance, camaraderie, and the human spirit. Whether you’re a participant or a supporter, the 2025 event promises to be an unforgettable experience, celebrating the rich history and challenging course that have defined this iconic ultramarathon.

The thrilling 2025 aQuellé Foresyte Winter Classic is back!!! 12 – 17 June at Shongweni Club in KwaZulu-Natal – an exciting showcase of world-class showjumping.

Prince of Wales Cup

The excitement of inter-provincial polo is back!! 20 – 22 June at Shongweni Club in KwaZulu-Natal where the 4 provinces (KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Highveld and Eastern Cape) will play for the Prince of Wales cup.

There will be both a men’s and a ladies’ section so it promises to be great polo.

KwaZulu-Natal Koi Show 2025

The annual much anticipated KwaZulu-Natal Koi Show will once again be held at the Shongweni Club on 19 – 20 July.

Sat 19 July: 8h00 – 17h00

Sun 20 July: 9h00 – 15h00

Tickets are R30 for adults, R10 for under 12 and free for kids under 6.

The Special Variety for all SAKKS Koi Shows in 2025 will be Koromo.

Amashova National Classic 2025

The Amashova National Classic, South Africa’s oldest road cycling race, is gearing up for its next edition on Sunday, 20 July 2025. This iconic event offers cyclists a choice of four routes: 38km | 65km | 106km | 132km.
The 106km race, for instance, starts at Pietermaritzburg City Hall and finishes at the Masabalala Yengwa Pedestrian Bridge in Durban. Notably, the event has been rescheduled to July to take advantage of Durban’s favourable winter weather conditions.
Online entries are set to open in February 2025 and will close on Monday, 23 June 2025. Participants can collect their race numbers at the Mandela Capture Site on Friday, 18 July, from 09:00 to 14:00, or at Suncoast’s playTsogo Globe on Saturday, 19 July, from 09:00 to 16:00.
